Full Custody Single Moms

I am shocked to hear what some people think of single parents.  There are those out there who seem to think we became single parents by some poor decision we made.  I know I didn’t set out to be a single parent.  But life happens as they say.

 i was floored when I read a post somewhere from an individual who literally assumes that children of single parent homes will not excel as much in life and will be more likely to be unsuccessful than those who are raised by two parents.  I could not imagine what I was reading.  She implied that I should not have high expectations of my children if their dad is not around.  What? 

I expect and will raise my children to be good, decent, hard working motivated people.  My children will not be any less successful in life because they are raised only by mommy.  I mean what does that have to do with anythig.  I am providing a stable and loving home for my children and I believe the key to raising them well.
